Unbelievable what is brought up by searching the internet for exploring the history of the Filipinetti X1/9.
Now some nice photos of the ex Filipinetti X1/9 have been offerend on Ebay Italy lately.
They´re showing the different modification states during the racing season 1974.
The first picture shows the Filipinetti with nearly no modifications, the car must look very much like its condition in 1973. This is supported when comparing to pictures of the car in front of the Scuderia Filipinetti workshop: The fender flares are still the same, so do the front spoiler and the back mirror. But the image shows that two X1/9 stock side mirrors have been mounted onto the front hood. And have a look at the background of the picture: You'll can see a DeTomaso Pantera. Maybe it is from Valtellina Racing, too.

On the next picture the car is shown at Monza motodrome in modified state. There Tarcisio Fornera won the the race in his class.
The changes in relation to the condition before, are not to be ignored. The Filipinetti fender flares had been removed and very likely after-market ones had been attached to the car. These fender flares were used on the second X1/9 of Valtellina Racing, on the Trivellato X1/9, and on the first Vaccari X1/9. The exhaust was placed crosswise with a wide opened final pipe (cone shape).
By the way, the mounting plates and the final pipe are still on #447. The mirrors were changed
with more sportive ones fixed to these plates, which we likewise know from #447. On the rear hood the label “Scuderia Citta dei to Mille” and their typical stripes are seen. In background on the board  you can read “FIAT X 1/9”: possibly expressing sponsoring by FIAT.

Here then a beautiful picture with a great view into driver´s area. The Filipinetti shift gate is there beside the still very well looking stock X1/9 interior. If you look more exactly, you can see a hose attached with cable strap to the roll bar. This was probably to the fire extinguishing system for the engine and interior. Behind the rear cage there isl another additionally attached cooling  pipe whose seen in the next picture to the engine bay.

In the engine bay a lot of modifications were made by Valtellina Racing. You can notice the 2 large aluminum catches. Those are fast refill lids. So the car could be refuelled reciprocally fast with pressure. On the catch it is even labeled with “Avery Hardoll”, which is a still existing company, manufacturing tank quick-locking mechanisms and tank clutches. For this also big fuel hoses were installed. Around the inlet pipes of the fuel injection system an air box was fit in for holding warm air out. For the additional colling line a slotted hole was made into the firewall. This oblong recess and the hole for the big fuel line are shown in pictures of Cosentino´s book too and they are still in the firewall of #447.
